Dr. Saiful Bahri received his Doctor of Business Administration with particular strength in business and corporate leadership. In his early working life, Dr. Saiful held numerous key positions in several Multinational Companies in which he significantly contributed to the growth of those companies. Upon recognizing that the need for human capital development with specific regards to Leadership could drive Malaysia towards developed nation status, Dr. Saiful introduced The Oxford Centre for Leadership (OXCEL) in the Asia-Pacific region to spearhead leadership development. Through OXCEL, Dr. Saiful has been able to help individuals as well as organisations through the various programmes of OXCEL. Locally, the OXCEL Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, OXCEL Residential programmes, Networking Events as well as the various periodic conferences organised by Dr. Saiful under his leadership have not only improved the performance of OXCEL members businesses but have also strengthened the social ties between each other. Again, through his innovative ideas and exemplary leadership qualities, Dr. Saiful has been able to extend OXCEL over Malaysian Borders. The company currently has branches in Bahrain, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia, Singapore and Nepal. Dr. Saiful’s vision is to establish OXCEL in every part of the Asia-Pacific Region to create and empower leaders to reach their highest aspirations. His last position before starting The Oxford Centre for Leadership Asia-Pacific Representative Office was as the General Manager of a UK based company in Malaysia. Dr. Saiful’s contributions to this company were of note as he was able to address internal conflicts amongst employees, which resulted in the creation of divisions among the various departments, and turn them into one cohesive unit which was able to positively impact the performance and profitability of the company. Under his stewardship Dr. Saiful’s innovative ideas and good leadership qualities he was able to guide the company to experience significant growth. Dr. Saiful has also served as the Head of Marketing for a locally based Malaysian company and played a major role in the corporate branding and strategic positioning of the firm as the number one high-end hygiene care provider. Amongst his notable achievements was his development of a strategic sales plan that enabled the company to be the 1st to penetrate the Middle East. Before that Dr. Saiful worked as the Corporate Marketing Liaison for a leading international bank. In that capacity, he oversaw the introduction of the bank’s premier financial products for the high net worth individuals. He was recognised as a high achiever and was duly sent to Australia and Singapore for 1-week stints to further develop his leadership capabilities. As the Administrative Manager at a leading financial securities company, Dr. Saiful reported directly to the Chief Executive Officer and ensured that the company achieved success in every field of its operations. Dr. Saiful’s 1st position of employment was notable as he was handpicked by a renowned investment holding company while he was completing his 3rd Year of studies to become the Corporate Affairs Executive to the Group Chairman. Dr. Saiful Bahri is also a published author with a best-selling book entitled I Walked the Dollar which is now in its 3rd print-run. This book details how he rose to excellence from a being naïve ‘kampung boy’ in his trials and tribulations to the present success of heading The Oxford Centre for Leadership Asia-Pacific Representative Office. His second book on Asset Based Community Development details processes for neighbourhood empowerment and is to be released in the last quarter of 2009.
